How do we teach with the 5 components of Hip-Hop?
***DIGITAL DJ LAB***
This hands-on experience fosters creativity, technical skills, and early confidence in music and technology—highlighting the power of engaging, age-appropriate instruction.
Meet Lucas
During a sleepaway camp session, Mr. Kivel introduced a 7-year-old student to the fundamentals of digital music production. Using the Pioneer DDJ-SB2 performance board and Serato software on an Apple laptop, he selected his own music and successfully created a continuous beat loop.
***EMCEE BAR ACADEMY***
With support from our dedicated staff, students find their voice—selecting a theme, building vocabulary, crafting lyrics, and practicing performance techniques. This process fosters creativity, collaboration, and confidence in every learner.
Meet The Young Masters
The Young Masters are rehearsing Quickhitters Winners, an original track developed through our Quick 5-Step structure. Their dedication, creativity, and the infectious energy they bring to this project showcase the joy of learning and the power of teamwork in action.
***The Next Move Crew***
Breakdancing, or the art of movement, empowers students to express themselves physically while building discipline, confidence, and creativity. We’re expanding this vital part of our program in partnership with skilled B-boys who’ve already engaged and inspired our high school students. We look forward to growing this offering even further—stay tuned!
***C.T.B.***
Our program Color The Block has always been a tool for empowerment. Seeing students lead projects with confidence—especially when they’ve developed true mastery—is incredibly rewarding.
Meet Strez
This young man demonstrated passion, and generosity as he shared his expertise with the class. We were all in awe of his work—an expressive, powerful reflection of his individuality and voice through art.
